Software Development Manager, Kindle Store (Apr. 2008 – Present): Leading the team responsible for the Kindle and Kindle content buying experience on the device and Amazon.com. Responsible for assessing, prioritizing, designing and implementing new features and performance improvements, operational support of the existing services and oversight of the business analytics for Amazon's executive leadership. Managing development and QA resources in Seattle, Cupertino and Chennai.
Manager, Multi-channel Applications and Services (Nov. 2006 – Mar. 2008): Lead the team responsible for the creation and operational support of Amazon's hosted multi-channel (in-store and phone-ordering) applications and point-of-sale web services. Responsible for assessing new products, engagements and partnerships as well as developing and prioritizing functional and technical enhancements to the existing product suite. Managed several software projects and site-launches including some involving cross-functional and offshore development teams.
Technical Program Manager (Oct. 2005 – Nov. 2006): Managed the integration of fulfillment and reverse-logistics systems for a large UK-based retailer and the implementation of Amazon's multi-channel product suite for another UK business. Coordinated the efforts of several independent service teams and dozens of enhancements to the web services that make up the Amazon.com platform. Managed the definition, development and deployment of an enhanced form of Amazon's externally facing drop-ship messaging (XML) interfaces. |

Team lead, architect and developer specializing in portal and web content and document management systems utilizing Vignette and Documentum. Managed 4.5 Million USD in billed revenue and more than 1 Million USD of software licensing. Sample projects:
Qualcomm CDMA Technologies (18 months): Technical architect for the customer-facing components of Qualcomm's SecureMSM initiatives. Deliverables included a web services-based integration with an external certificate authority, tools for end-user identity management, and a struts-based extranet application built with Oracle 10g applications. Lead Java developer for a Documentum implementation that automated the personalized distribution of intellectual property and design materials.
J.D. Edwards/Peoplesoft/Oracle (10 and 12 months): Team lead, architect and developer for a Vignette-based web,intranet and extranet content management application incorporating features for content aggregation, content development, publication and syndication, workflow and document life-cycle automation, personalization and internationalization.
MediaNews Group Interactive, MNGi (6 months): Team lead, architect and developer of a web-publishing application for one of the largest media companies in the U.S. with television, radio and newspaper properties. The Vignette-based publishing system, used by 45 MNG newspapers, including the Denver Post, automated delivery of pre-press content feeds to the web. The application also includes a web-based tool-set for management, editing and selection of site material by the newspaper editorial staff.
Other clients: Sapient/Cingular, Intermountain Health Care (IHC), EAS, Denver Newspaper Agency (DNA), Nokia USA and Port of Portland.
